The Rwanda Nautical Ounce series celebrates some of the most famous ships in maritime history, combining intricate ship designs with investment-grade .999 fine silver. The 2021 Sedov release is the fifth edition in the series and pays tribute to one of the world's most famous four-masted training ships.

The Sedov is a four-masted steel barque that has served as a sail training vessel for generations of cadets. Originally built as a German cargo ship, the vessel was launched in 1921 and later became one of the world's largest traditional sailing ships in operation. The 2021 release commemorates the 100th anniversary of her launch.

The reverse features a finely detailed depiction of the Sedov sailing under full sail, accompanied by a stylized compass rose and navigational markings. Nautical instruments appear within the design, while the surrounding inscriptions include "NAUTICAL OUNCE", "2021" and "1 OZ FINE SILVER 999". The obverse displays the Coat of Arms of Rwanda together with the 50 Francs denomination.
