The Rwanda Lunar Ounce series celebrates the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac through distinctive annual designs crafted in investment-grade .999 fine silver. The 2022 release marks the Year of the Tiger, a symbol traditionally associated with courage, strength, confidence and good fortune.

The reverse features a powerful tiger in a crouching position, presented in the series' distinctive mosaic-style design. The Chinese character for "Tiger" appears above the animal, while the surrounding inscriptions include "LUNAR OUNCE", "2022", "YEAR OF THE TIGER" and "1 oz FINE SILVER 999". The obverse displays the Coat of Arms of the Republic of Rwanda together with the 50 Francs denomination.
